Rainwater Harvesting · Limerick & Clare

Rainwater harvesting systems for Irish homes - tank sizing, gutter integration, garden and greywater feeds designed for Ireland's 1,000mm+ annual rainfall.

Ireland gets more rain per year than most of England. A standard 120m² roof catches about 120,000 litres of water annually that currently runs straight into the drain. A rainwater harvesting system captures it and re-uses it for the garden, toilet flushing, washing machine, or just a backup supply.

For most Irish homes a 1,500-3,000 litre tank with first-flush diverter, filter and pump is the right size - enough to cover the garden through summer dry spells without taking over the back patio. Bigger 5,000+ litre setups make sense for self-sufficient builds and properties on private wells.

We size every system based on roof area + tank size + intended use. There's no single right answer - just the right answer for your house.

What Limerick & Clare homeowners say

5.0

Had a such a great experience with this company. We needed new gutters and they did a fantastic job - took down the old ones and installed fresh brand new. Tidy crew, fair price, and the job came in exactly when they said it would.

William and the team came out the morning after I rang - water was pouring down the back wall after the storm. Identified the cracked downpipe, replaced it, and rehung two saggy runs while they were up. Honest pricing and no upsell.

Booked them for a full gutter replacement on a 1990s semi. Seamless aluminium - looks fantastic and you would never know there was ever a join. Lads were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and stuck to the quoted price.

Three other companies ghosted me on a quote. William turned up the next day, took photos, sent the quote that evening, and started the work that Friday. Cleaned out 18 years of leaves and gunk - genuinely could not believe how much they pulled out.

Used them for the autumn gutter clean and a small repair on the fascia where the bracket had pulled out. Reasonable price, on time, and they took photos before/after so you could see the job actually got done. Will be using again next year.

Brilliant from start to finish. Old cast-iron downpipes on a listed Adare cottage - most installers would not touch it. William did the survey himself, sourced matching profiles, and the finish is exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend.

FAQs · Rainwater Harvesting

Common questions

How much does a rainwater harvesting system cost in Ireland?

A garden-only setup with above-ground 1,500L tank is €1,200-€2,000 fitted. Below-ground household feeds (toilets + washing machine) run €4,500-€7,500. Self-sufficient systems with UV + mains backup start at €8,000.

How much rainwater can my roof actually catch?

Roof area in m² × 1,000mm Irish rainfall × 80% efficiency = annual yield in litres. So a 120m² roof catches roughly 96,000L per year. That covers a typical garden + 30-50% of toilet/washing-machine demand.

Will rainwater harvesting save me money?

Depends. If you're on a public water supply, the savings are modest (Irish Water charges are low). If you're on a private well or septic system, the savings + reliability gain is substantial. Most customers do it for the resilience + sustainability rather than pure ROI.

Can I drink the water?

Not without proper UV sterilisation + filtration. The system we fit for "potable" use includes UV sterilisation. Garden-only systems are not designed for drinking.
